Not ready to write her older sister off, Dawn sets out for San Francisco, determined to bring her sister back from exile and the family back together again. But in a city bigger, stranger than anything she's ever experienced, she finds something beyond her sheltered imagination: her sister is involved with a cult of sungazers who've found a darker side to the sun, and intend to use it.
